héroes de ayer
héroes desvanecidos
enterrados en la vasta oscuridad
perdidos en la densidad del olvido.
Como ratas de una plaga negra
fuisteis cayendo uno tras otro
por ser los gigantes del momento.
¡Cuántos más se hundieron
en ese fango de insania y soledad!
¡Oh tiempos de horror
tiempos de nostalgia!
¡Cuánta sangre derramada
por la sinrazón y la infamia!
Ya marchó el demente
que os causó la muerte
y ahora solo nos toca rezar
por vuestras almas sagradas
encerradas con tanto desamparo
en ese campo de eterna penitencia
y esperar al valiente gladiador
que ¿resucite? Con dignidad y honor
aquellos nombres ya desvanecidos
perdidos en la densidad del olvido

heroes of yesterday
vanished heroes
burried in the vast darkness
lost in the thickness of oblivion.
As rats of a black plague
you fell one after another
because you were the giants of the moment.
How many more sunk
in that mire of insanity and solitude!
Oh times of horror
times of nostalgia!
How much blood spilled
for nonsense and insanity!
The lunatic is gone
(the one) who caused your death
and now we can only pray
for your sacred souls
locked up with so much neglect
in that field of eternal penance
and wait for the courageous gladiator
to resurect? With dignity and honor
those names, already vanished,
lost in the thickness of oblivion
