Analyzes the effect of bushmeat on local economies in Africa, with special attention given to two questions: 1) whether hunting of bushmeat is predominantly for income or consumption or for choice or necessity, and 2) what are the potential factors that influence production, consumption, and expenditure of the meat. A small village in Equatorial Guinea was the basis of this study.
