On May 20, 2010, EG Justice held a closed-door roundtable discussion in Washington DC between members of Equatoguinean and international civil society organizations. The discussion focused on the steps necessary to strengthen the country’s civil society to ensure that its actors are capable of participating as equal and independent stakeholders in the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative, the Universal Periodic Review, and other international processes aimed at improving human rights, transparency, and accountability.
