Human rights groups say the U.N. cultural organization should reject a new bid to honor Equatorial Guinea's president with a prize in his name.

Human rights groups say the U.N. cultural organization should reject a new bid to honor Equatorial Guinea's president with a prize in his name.

A statement from groups in Africa, Europe and the United States says UNESCO is to reconsider next week a bid to instate the UNESCO-Obiang Nguema Mbasogo Prize for Research in the Life Sciences.
