The Cardin-Lugar Transparency Provision of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act amends Section 13 of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Act of 1934 to mandate that all oil, gas, and mining companies that are required to file an annual report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission must disclose the payments made to foreign governments for the extraction of natural resources.
