Despite the international commitments and recommendations accepted by the Government of Equatorial Guinea, it treats sexual orientation and gender identity as an illness. In fact, the government has enacted a new highly restrictive criminal law that will legitimize violence, inequality, and even trafficking of LGBTQI individuals.
